The trio plays two sets at the Indigo Room, a Mahaiwe Presents date on the tour celebrating State of the Art, Mason’s latest album on his own label, Taylor Christian Records. The set moves across swing, post-bop, soul, and contemporary groove, with recent singles “Secure the Bag” and “A Good Day” in the mix. The album was recorded in a single session with no more than two takes per track, so the music leans on instinct over polish, and that improvisational edge carries into the room.
Mason leads from the piano, joined by Mark Lewandowski on bass and Charles Goold on drums, for two sets in the Indigo Room’s intimate firehouse setting, where these songs can stretch out and take shape up close.
BEFORE YOU COME
The Indigo Room hosts two sets, at 5:30 PM and 8:30 PM. General admission is $49 and includes café-table seating, part of the room's flexible, modular setup inside the former Great Barrington firehouse next door to the historic Mahaiwe theater.
ABOUT THE INDIGO ROOM
The Indigo Room is a flexible, black-box-style venue in the former Great Barrington firehouse at 20 Castle Street, next door to the historic Mahaiwe theater. Opened in October 2025, the space features modular seating that can be configured from around 80 seated café tables to 150 standing, giving the Mahaiwe a smaller, more intimate room to complement its main stage.
