The trio plays two sets at Caffè Vivace, a Walnut Hills jazz room named one of DownBeat Magazine's best jazz venues in the world for 2026, touring behind State of the Art, Mason's newest album on his own label, Taylor Christian Records. Across the record, the band moves through swing, post-bop, soul, and contemporary groove, including the latest singles "Secure the Bag" and "A Good Day," all captured in a single, unrepeatable session with no more than two takes per song, a deliberate choice that pushed the band to lean on instinct over perfection.
On stage, that same lineup, Sean Mason on piano, Felix Moseholm on bass, and Charles Goold on drums, brings that same spontaneity to a live audience, giving listeners the rare chance to hear the album's material shaped in real time by the very musicians who created it in the studio.
BEFORE YOU COME
Caffè Vivace hosts two sets, at 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM. A $20 food or drink minimum applies per person, per set. Arrival matters here: if you haven't checked in within 15 minutes of a set's start time, the venue reserves the right to resell your seats with no refund. Tickets are non-refundable, though a one-time transfer to a future show is available upon request at least 24 hours in advance.
